This summer, I want to encourage the tumblr community to work on their self-esteem and develop a body-positive attitude. Learning to love yourself can improve so many areas of your life, and can help to make you become a generally happier person.

There’ll be a new activity posted every day, and you can do as many or as few as you like, whenever you like. Each one will aim to take you one step closer to self-love, addressing both personal issues and wider social problems. Some will take minutes, and others will take longer. It’s up to you to decide how much time and effort you want to put into the activities you do.

You can do the activities privately, or you can blog about them and share them with everyone else. If you tag them with ‘Summer of Self Love’, we can all share each others’ experiences.

In order for the project to take off, we need a signal boost! If you think you’d like to take part, or would be willing to share this with your followers, please reblog this post! We’d love to build up a community of positive people.

I am officially a member of Planet Fitness for the next two months

Today was a good first day.

I did a ton of things, running, elliptical, crunches, stretches, and more but I spent my first day focused on my arms.

4 x 10 chest presses, 20lb

4 x 7 squats, 20lb

4 x 10 flies, 5lb

4 x 10 lawn mowers/one arm rows, 10lb

4 x 10 tricep extensions, 5lb

4 x 10 bicep curls, 7.5lb

I feel fucking great, I’m just in desperate need of a shower now!

To do list

  • work out
  • post work out protein 
  • catch breath. call michelle back.
  • get two more passport photos
  • photo copy some relevant documents
  • pack for cabin and atlanta
  • take off my “fuck yeah, america” nail manicure, and put on a “please let me into your country, france” manicure 
  • finish my library books ASAP
  • finish my next article for We Are the Upstate
  • figure out what I will eat tonight to celebrate my darling G’s birthday! ^_^
  • make myself look PRESENTABLE TO SOCIETY

With the power outage

and sleeping in a crappy place, I didn’t get ANY sleep last night. I usually work out before lunch and now its 3 and I’m still feeling too tired to push play. 

What to do, what to do…

im just not feeling it today

i wanna turn out the lights, marathon a tv show (how i met your mother?), and eat a shit ton of carbs…. and then get drunk.

UGHHHH. whine grumble.

30 Day Body Rock Challenge - Day 2

  1. 10 Knee Highs, 10 Mountain climbers - 4
  2. 2 squat jumps, 2 push ups, 1 tuck jump - 5
  3. push up, jump, squat, jump - 6
  4. center to elbow, wide leg jump - 3
  5. 5 tuck jumps, 5 half burpee squats - 2
  6. spider knees, straight leg pushups (modified) - 4
  7. switch lunge, reach - 10
  8. 2 side lunges, left and right punch, 2 tuck jumps - 7
  9. 10 squats, 10 squat jumps - 1
  10. 10 elbow to knee jumps - 5
  11. wide leg jumps, push ups (modified) - 6
  12. speed run

This was 50/10 intervals and fucking tough. I got Sophie to do it with me today. Sweating up a storm.

And of course this is on top of our normal 45 minutes at the gym. But Lisa-Marie is right - I feel great! Plus I notice things like I really need to work on my pushups and my form on my lunges.
